This policy provides Indemnity to the insured against:
- Loss or damage to the property contained within the main building or other buildings separately specified in the schedule all situate within the insured’s premises arising out of theft on an attempt thereat involving entry or exit by forcible and violent means.
- Damage arising from Theft following upon an actual Forcible and violent entry to or exit from or any attempt thereat to such building(s) for which the insured is responsible.
It is normally extended to include loss or damage of property following a hold-up.
Burglary insurance can be arranged on First Loss Sums Insured (FLSI) basis to take cognizance of the fact that it is unlikely than a policyholder can lose all insured property in a premise in one incident.
The policy is written on accommodation basis (together with Fire) and equally warrants provisions of 24 Hours Watchman on premises and Safe & Books Clause.
